Scenic Sojourn

This week-long tour is the perfect option to steal away to reset in the gorgeous Irish landscape. The first night will be spent in Dunboyne Castle, just outside of Dublin. Then, we will head southwest to spend our days on the Dingle and Kerry peninsulas. For four nights, your home will be the stunning Lake Hotel in Killarney. Our day trips include stepping back in time along the Dingle peninsula, the gorgeously rugged Ring of Kerry, a jaunting car through a national park, and more.

The Itinerary

  • July 14

Starting in Dublin, we will explore Viking and medieval Dublin via a walking tour. Highlights include St. Audeon’s Church, Dublinia, and Christchurch Cathedral. We will enjoy dinner at Dunboyne Castle, our home for the night.

  • July 15

Heading southwest out of Dublin, we detour to Blarney Castle and Blarney Woolen Mills before settling into our home for four nights, The Lake Hotel in Killarney.

  • July 16

Everyone has a favorite peninsula, and Dingle is Nigel’s! It’s no wonder with its gorgeous sea views, pre-historic forts, monastic beehive huts - and more. Enjoy lunch and shopping in Dingle village before heading back to Killarney for an evening on your own.

  • July 17

Now it’s time for Jessica’s favorite peninsula: The Ring of Kerry. Enjoy the dizzying heights and the breathtaking beauty! On a clear day, you can see Skellig Michael, a 6th century monastic site, most recently famous for sheltering Luke Skywalker and Rey. We will enjoy a group lunch together.

  • July 18

We’ll take this day at a slower pace, first enjoying a jaunting car tour of Killarney National Park. We’ll enjoy a leisurely visit to the village of Kenmare with a stop at an ancient stone circle followed by a visit to a sheep farm. The afternoon is yours to enjoy. To cap off our last night together, you will enjoy an Irish step show.

  • July 19

Before making our way back to Dublin, we have one more treat for you: an Irish coffee class - by way of the inventor! Lunch and a visit to the Foyne’s Flying Boat museum caps off our tour. We’ll spend the night at the Maldron Airport hotel for your flight home the next day.

Most airlines offer a no-fee for changes to tickets – though costs may be incurred if the changed ticket prices differ from the original price. Most airlines offer credits, rather than a refund.

If you need to cancel your trip for any reason OR we need to cancel or postpone the trip, it’s your responsibility to work with your airline to cancel, reschedule, or request refunds.

Cancellations

If for any reason we need to cancel or postpone the trip, you will be refunded 100% of the cost of the trip.

If you need to cancel for any reason at all up to 60 days before the start of the trip, you will be refunded 100% of the cost.

If you need to cancel for any reason at all within 60 days of departure, you’ll get everything back minus the deposit.

Trip insurance is a wise investment in case something comes up while traveling. If you think there is any chance you may need to cancel, we recommend you purchase travel insurance. A “Cancel for Any Reason” plan will let you, well, cancel for ‘most’ any reason. Most plans should allow for at least a 75% refund should you need to cancel at any time before departure.
